JOB SUMMARY:

This position holds sole responsibility for sourcing and maintaining inventory of materials to be used in Marathon’s food manufacturing processes. Primary purchases include nuts, ingredients, and packaging. The position works closely with manufacturing management on the timely and cost-effective procurement of inventory to support the production plan. It also coordinates with executive management on strategic sourcing opportunities. It is a full-time, salaried position at the corporate offices of Marathon Ventures, Inc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Contracting of key commodities based on forecasted sales, customer contracts, and input from management team

· Initiation of procurement activities to support production plans

· Strong understanding of ERP systems, including MRP to plan raw materials

· Maintain key systems and processes to monitor inventory levels

· Work with freight providers to arrange transport of incoming goods

· Ability to collaborate across all functional areas of the company

· Historical tracking of key commodity pricing and market conditions

· Assist Quality Assurance in maintaining approved supplier list

· Work with executive management to identify optimum inventory levels to balance service levels, carrying costs, and market opportunities
